WEEKLY STRONG TIP: COCONUT MILK WEIGHT LOSS SMOOTHIE

Coconut oil for weight loss is the best superfood to choose due to the abundance of healthy medium chain saturated fatty acids. These little guys BOOSTS metabolism and also causes immediate energy (yay!). Another HUGE bonus is that these saturated fatty acids don’t end up being stored as body fat like longer chain fatty acids sometimes can.

WEEKLY STRONG TIP: KEEP MOTIVATED FOR DAILY EXERCISE

“Remember that we all must start somewhere! It is of rare form that people are magically gifted to be able to bench press 300 lbs or appear to be naturally happy and healthy. It takes conscious, daily effort! Find an activity that you love to do, whether it be going to the gym, pilates, ballet, basketball, yoga, etc.. and stick with it! Imagine yourself a year from now excelling at what you thought was merely impossible the previous year!”

Desiderata

“Go placidly amid the noise and haste,
and remember what peace there may be in silence.
As far as possible without surrender
be on good terms with all persons.
Speak your truth quietly and clearly;
and listen to others,
even the dull and the ignorant;
they too have their story.

Avoid loud and aggressive persons,
they are vexations to the spirit.
If you compare yourself with others,
you may become vain and bitter;
for always there will be greater and lesser persons than yourself.
Enjoy your achievements as well as your plans.

Keep interested in your own career, however humble;
it is a real possession in the changing fortunes of time.
Exercise caution in your business affairs;
for the world is full of trickery.
But let this not blind you to what virtue there is;
many persons strive for high ideals;
and everywhere life is full of heroism.

Be yourself.
Especially, do not feign affection.
Neither be cynical about love;
for in the face of all aridity and disenchantment
it is as perennial as the grass.

Take kindly the counsel of the years,
gracefully surrendering the things of youth.
Nurture strength of spirit to shield you in sudden misfortune.
But do not distress yourself with dark imaginings.
Many fears are born of fatigue and loneliness.
Beyond a wholesome discipline,
be gentle with yourself.

You are a child of the universe,
no less than the trees and the stars;
you have a right to be here.
And whether or not it is clear to you,
no doubt the universe is unfolding as it should.

Therefore be at peace with God,
whatever you conceive Him to be,
and whatever your labors and aspirations,
in the noisy confusion of life keep peace with your soul.

With all its sham, drudgery, and broken dreams,
it is still a beautiful world.
Be cheerful.
Strive to be happy.”

Ingredients

1 1/2 cups dried lemon balm leaf

3/4 cup dried lavender buds

1/4 cup dried red raspberry leaf tea

1/4 cup dried nettle leaf

To Make:

To make this in a large quantity simply put all of the herbs in a quart-size Mason jar with a lid and shake well to combine. Label with the ingredients and brewing directions and stick it on the jar!

To Brew:

1.) Bring at least a quart of water to a boil and remove from heat for a few minutes.

2.) Place 2 Tbsp of the tea in a quart-size canning jar.

3.) Carefully pour the hot water over the tea, leaving an inch of head space. Screw the lid on tightly and let it brew for at least 8 hours (I do this overnight so I am able to enjoy this blend anytime the next day!).

4.) Strain out the herbs and sip on the infusion through the day. Enjoy hot or chilled!<3
